The extension

Get the LuniNote extension

It's the Web Clipper, and it's how you move a whole Evernote account. It isn't in the Chrome Web Store yet, so you add it by hand, once. It takes about two minutes.

You need Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Brave on a computer (Windows, Mac or Linux), and a LuniNote account. Firefox and Safari don't work with it yet.

Add it

  1. Unzip the file into a folder you'll keep, for example Documents\LuniNote extension. The browser loads the extension from that folder every time it starts, so don't move or delete it.
  2. Open the extensions page: type chrome://extensions into the address bar and press Enter (Edge:edge://extensions, Brave: brave://extensions).
  3. Turn on Developer mode, the switch at the top right (in Edge, on the left). It only lets you add an extension from a folder.
  4. Click Load unpacked and choose the folder from step 1, the one with manifest.jsonin it.
  5. Click the puzzle-piece icon next to the address bar and pin LuniNote, so its button stays in view.

When the browser starts, it may warn about extensions in developer mode. That's normal for an extension added this way; keep it.

Connect it to your account

Click the LuniNote button, then Connect LuniNote. Sign in if asked and chooseAllow. You can see and remove connected browsers in LuniNote under Settings, Connected apps.

Move your notes from Evernote

Open Evernote's web version in the same browser, signed in as usual, and open any note. ClickMove to LuniNote, choose what to bring, and keep the tab open until it's done. The move only reads from Evernote. More on the import page.

Updating

It doesn't update itself yet. When a new version is out, download it again, unzip it over the same folder, and click the reload arrow on the LuniNote card on the extensions page. You stay connected.

If something goes wrong

  • "Manifest file is missing or unreadable": you picked the zip or the wrong folder. Pick the folder withmanifest.json in it.
  • No Move to LuniNote button in Evernote: reload the Evernote tab and check the extension is switched on.
  • Anything else: write to support@luninote.com with what you clicked and what you saw.
